Cindy Lin
Chia Hsin Lin (Cindy Lin) is a professional violinist, born in Taiwan. She initially studied for her Bachelors degree in Music at Pingtung University in Taiwan. Chia Hsin then spent a further year studying Violin at the University of Hradec Kralove in the Czech Republic. Subsequent to this she continued on to a Masters Degree in Music at the University of Sheffield, studying Violin and also Piano.
As well as being highly educated Chia Hsin has performed regularly in several high profile orchestra's on first violin. In addition to this she has also performed chamber music in string quartets, as well as many solo recitals.
Chia Hsin was the concert master at the National Pingtung University Orchestra for the 2017/18 season, and conducted the 2017 Concert of the Presidential Office. During the same year, Chia Hsin was a member of PTSO (Pingtung Symphony Orchestra) and performed in many concerts, including the Taiwanese New Year Concert. Chia Hsin has studied violin all over the world and was an Erasmus in the Czech Republic at University Hradec Kralove. Whilst studying she performed in many solo recitals in the Czech Republic.
Chia Hsin is also a multi-instrumentalist. As well as her expertise in Violin she also has a keen interest in piano, she regularly accompanies her violin pupils on piano as well as teaching piano to a high level.
Chia Hsin has a love of all music, however her preference is getting involved in ensemble works, particularly from the Romantic period. Since moving to the UK she has performed in many orchestra's and ensembles throughout the South Yorkshire region.
Since moving to the UK Chia Hsin has been involved in many teaching projects with children and adults of all ages. She currently works with Concerteenies, which is a community project encouraging young children (0-7yrs) to get involved in music. She also provides bespoke music tuition at Rotherham College for adults and also for students with Special Educational Needs.
Teaching music is the reason Chia Hsin gets up in the morning. She enjoys passing on her vast knowledge of practice, theory and technique to students of all ages and all abilities. Chia Hsin believes learning an instrument should be fun, this approach means Chia Hsin's students enjoy their learning and ultimately progress very quickly on their instrument.
